Read the path as evidence
A media reference tells the player where to look; it does not guarantee that the resource exists. This checker walks conventional path fields in the content JSON and compares local references with files in the archive. A missing-path finding gives you a specific asset to investigate in the source editor.
Case matters in the comparison. An image referenced as Photo.png may differ from photo.png on the target host. Keep the authoring application responsible for asset naming and export where possible, rather than repairing one copy while leaving the source inconsistent.
Distinguish packaged and remote media
A URL can refer to a resource that is never included in the package. Its continued availability depends on the remote host and permissions. A video that opens for an authenticated author may still be unavailable to a learner on another platform. The checker lists remote path references without following them.
- Check the missing path in the source lesson.
- Verify remote resources with the learner’s access level.
- Re-export after fixing the source.
- Keep rights and attribution information with replacement assets.
Understand the boundary of a static check
Custom libraries can generate paths at runtime or reference files in CSS and embedded markup. This release checks conventional fields and selected asset attributes; it is not a complete rendering engine. After resolving reported paths, preview every interaction in the target test course. A clean local path inventory is one checkpoint in that process.
