Separate the lesson from the platform
An interactive content export is not a full backup of the course that contains it. The course can also hold enrolments, grades, completion settings, permissions and links to other activities. Record those requirements before treating a successful content import as a completed migration.
Keep a reference copy of the lesson on the source platform. Capture expected interactions and scoring outcomes with a test learner, so the target can be compared against concrete behavior.
Prepare the target deliberately
Ask the administrator for the installed H5P library inventory and the policy for installing bundled libraries. Then run this package preflight and resolve missing files or versions. Do not equate an unlisted dependency with corruption: it may be deliberately supplied by the target environment.
- Keep the original package and its report.
- Create a private destination activity.
- Record the source and target platform versions.
- Use an ordinary learner role for the acceptance test.
Test completion, not just the opening screen
Open every branch, reveal and media item. Complete correct and incorrect answers, restart the activity and test resume behavior if the platform supports it. Confirm the expected completion and score records at the destination. A lesson that displays its first page can still fail at a later interaction or at the handoff to the gradebook.
